Who may join the Philippine representation

This is open to Filipino watercolor artists (of Filipino nationality living in the Philippines or abroad) and artists from other nationalities that are currently residing in the Philippines.

[spacer height=”20px” id=”7″]

The participation is open to all art groups and independent artists that paint in watercolor.

[spacer height=”20px” id=”7″]

Artists from other countries may consult the poster to find the respective leaders to approach for participation in the 2018 FabrianoinAcquarello exhibition and event.

Participation Fee

Exposition artist – For artists sending the artworks to Italy for the physical exhibition, the participation fee is 70 Euros.

[spacer height=”20px” id=”7″]

Only Catalogue artist – For artists who will not send artworks to Italy but will opt for the catalogue inclusion, the participation fee is 40 Euros

[spacer height=”20px” id=”7″]

Please note:  the above fees do not cover packaging, mailing, bank transfer or PayPal cost that the group may incur during the local preparations.  These community costs will be divided among the participating artists.

[spacer height=”20px” id=”7″]

For participating artists who will travel to Italy for the event, you will have free party entrance, free catalogue copy, a discounted price should you avail of the Painting Holidays package following the FabrianoInAcquarello event.

[spacer height=”20px” id=”7″]

The artwork and catalog expedition cost will be covered by the FabrianoInAcquarello organization from Fabriano to the Country Community Leader.  The artists must then collect their own artwork and catalog from the Leader.  Alternatively, the Leader can send the artwork and catalog to the artists by local courier.  The cost for the said service to be taken up by the participants.

Art work theme, size, orientation and presentation

Free theme – Participants are given freedom to choose what to present in their paintings taking into consideration that the exhibition will be open to the public.  Please submit original artworks only.   Any painting reported as copied or violating copyrights of other artists including works in photography will not be allowed.

[spacer height=”20px” id=”7″]

Size – It is very important that the absolute external dimension of the paper is exactly 22 x 15 inches or 56 x 38 cm.  Please observe this size as any artworks sent smaller or bigger than the size prescribed will be rejected and will not be exhibited in Fabriano.  Remedying an artwork that will not fit the prepared presentation base provided by the organizers will cause unnecessary delays and with the huge number of participation expected (last year’s was 1000+ artists), any cause of delays would be unacceptable.

[spacer height=”20px” id=”7″]

Orientation – Both vertical (portrait) and horizontal (landscape) orientation are accepted.

[spacer height=”20px” id=”7″]

Painted area – You may paint flush to the edges of the prescribed paper size.  Or if you prefer, to leave a margin within the prescribed paper size before having the painted area.  Make sure to keep this blank area clean and presentable.  An applied passepartout (mat with window cutout) to cover the border is optional and allowed as long as it is done of light or white paper and its absolute external dimension is the prescribed paper size of 56 x 38 cm or 22 x 15 inches.  The Fabriano organization will not be providing passepartout.

[spacer height=”20px” id=”7″]

Artworks must be signed – Artist’s signature must be visible on the painting.

[spacer height=”20px” id=”7″]

Presentation – The organization will provide the setting in paper frame with PVC plastic transparent protection sheet for all artworks in the exhibition.

How the artworks are to be sent to Italy

The artworks must be sent unframed.  Sending as a flat pack is recommended as this will minimize damage at custom control checks.  Rolled packed artworks will be accepted.  However, the organization will not take responsibility should the artworks stick to each other during travel or if they get subject to dirt or damage when being unraveled during inspection at customs.

[spacer height=”20px” id=”7″]

Protection – To protect the artwork during transit, please use a plastic cover to house each painting.  The transparent cover also would allow customs control to physically check the artworks front and back without handling them directly.

[spacer height=”20px” id=”7″]

We hope to collect the paintings for those sending from the Philippines and send them as a group which can help minimize costs (the total amount will be divided among the members of the group).  This also makes for easier monitoring.

[spacer height=”20px” id=”7″]

For the participants who are out of the country, we will ask they be allowed to send from the country they are currently in.

Below are pictures of the recommended cover one can make for the paintings using a plastic sheet and clear tape.  The collected paintings, each plastic wrapped like this one, will be packed together, padded and sent in a cardboard housing for added protection.

Artist identification card – (Attachment A) – must be filled legibly and taped carefully to the back of the artwork.

[spacer height=”20px” id=”7″]

No commercial value – Please do not label the artworks with its commercial value on the back or in any document sent with the pack.  Should inquiries be made regarding the availability and price of the artwork during the Fabriano convention, the organizers will endorse directly to the artist or the country leader.  The Fabriano organization will not retain any percentage.

January 15, 2018 – All requirements for the National Museum Art Export permit must be in so we can start the procurement of the permit.

[spacer height=”20px” id=”7″]

March 1, 2018 – All artworks must have arrived in Fabriano.

[spacer height=”20px” id=”7″]
